Recreational Classes

 GymTyme offers classes for all ages and abilities. Whether you are just learning to tumble or are an elite athlete, we've got a class for you to learn how to be a GreaT athlete. GymTyme takes pride in having some of the best instructors in the country. We train our athletes to perfect skills and work through a progression system. We understand that some students advance faster than others, but want to give every athlete the tools they need to be a GreaT athlete the GymTyme

November 2018 Class and Special Event Schedule

GYMTYME RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE ANY CLASSES WITH LOW ENROLLMENT. IF A CLASS HAS LESS THAN THREE ATHLETES REGISTERED, WE WILL CLOSE THE CLASS AND COMBINE THE CURRENT REGISTERED ATHLETES WITH A DIFFERENT CLASS. ALL REGISTERED ATHLETES OF THE CLASS THAT IS CLOSED MAY BE ASKED TO SWITCH TO DIFFERENT DAY OR TIME. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS GIVEN; ONLY GYM CREDITS TO ATHLETES THAT ARE UNABLE TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT CLASS.

Please see individual class and level descriptions for any prerequisites.

Most classes combine levels in order to provide a safe and seamless transition through levels.

 

 

Cheerleading Tumbling Classes

Tumbling Classes
Intro to Tumbling – Intro to Tumbling is designed to teach the fundamentals and basic technique for tumbling.  
Athletes will work on the following skills: Fwd Roll, Backward roll, handstand, cartwheel, push up to bridge, fall back into bridge, handstand limber, backbend kick over. 
 
Intermediate Tumbling – This class is designed for athletes working on back walkovers, front walkovers, roundoffs, multiple back walkovers, multiple front walkovers, cartwheel back walkovers, standing back handspring, roundoff back handspring. Athletes must have all skills from Intro class to be in this class.
 
BHS Series and Round Off BHS Series  – This class is designed for athletes working on front handsprings, roundoff back handspring series, jump to back handspring, standing back handspring series, back tuck drills. Athletes must have all skills from Beginning Cheer Tumbling class to be in this class.
 
Back Tuck Class – Jump to BHS series, Punch front tuck, standing tuck, standing back handspring tuck, jumps to back handspring tuck, roundoff back handspring layout drills. Athletes must have all skills from BHS Series and Round Off BS Series class to be in this class.
 
Layouts and Fulls – Standing back handsprings to layout, jumps to back handsprings to layout, Punch front step out, jumps to tuck, roundoff back handspring full, standing back handsprings to full, whips, standing fulls, round off back back handspring double, standing back handsprings to double, specialty passes through to any level 5 skill. Athletes must have all skills from Back Tuck class to be in this class.
 
Back Handspring 101 - This class is specifically designed for athletes that need to focus on just their back handspring. This class will consist of drills, conditioning and strength training to master their back handspring.
 

Stunting Classes

GymTyme is known worldwide for our innovative stunts and impeccable stunt technique. 

Flyer Stunt Class

This class is available for current flyers. This 55-minute class will be broken down into stations and drills to improve overall flexibility and flying technique.  Athletes will also have the opportunity to fly on GT staff members to gain new skills on experienced bases. This class is perfect for all-star flyers as well as school team flyers.

 

 

Specialty Classes

GymTyme offers different classes to meet the needs of cheerleaders and other athletes. Check out some of our specialty classes!

 

Acro for Dancers

This class is designed for dancers that would like to improve their acro and tumbling skills in a safe environment. Dancers will be able to work their skills on our spring mats, into our resi mats and on our tumble trak and trampoline for safe landings and introduction to skills. The main focus of this class will be to work on tumbling skills that are performed by dancers such as handstand variations, front and back walkovers, side and front aerials, back handsprings, tucks and layouts. Tumbling is becoming more and more popular in the dance world and GymTyme wants to share our knowledge of tumbling with the dance community and share our tumbling equipment to ensure safety.
